Marina Wawel

In view of the English-speaking tourists visiting Krakow in the program there were Polish movies with English subtitles. Specially selected set of titles is an attempt to cross-cutting approach to the domestic cinematography. Fixtures program entertained so well the audiences both Polish and foreign visitors to Krakow.

Cinema on the Wave

There is no way of course, in the 12 weeks to show all the best in the Polish film industry, so we will see a memorable The Cruise by Marek Piwowski, a funny and absurd Stanisław Bareja's Bear, Sexmission by Juliusz Machulski with a extraoridinary role by Jerzy Stuhr, but also the masters of Polish cinema - Blind chance of Krzysztof Kieslowski and Roman Polanski's Knife in the Water. There will be also contemporary cinema - a story about one of the greatest artists of the primitive art - My Nikifor by Krzysztof Krauze, Strawberry Wine by Dariusz Jabloński, dreamlike Jasminum by Jan Jakub Kolski, awarded Reverse by Borys Lankosz or Time to Die - an extraordinary tribute to Danuta Szaflarska, one of the greatest Polish actresses in Dorota Kędzierzawska's movie.

Cinema on the Wave

The program also included two independent productions of impressive maturity and workshop - An Angel in Cracow, a very sentimental and funny story about a lost angel, a very unusual and cracovien, and Arkadiusz Jakubik's film The Simple Love Story telling about... love.

Cinema on the Wave

The oldest of these films was carried out in 1962, the latest one's are from the last year, all still look great, is an excellent example of that Polish cinema is not only a sad or gloomy, that the makers can realize that the stories are very firmly rooted in this part of Europe, but could also be happened anywhere else in the world, filled with amazing stories of universal aura, and an excellent sense of humor.

In the case of any rain or etc. screenings will be held outdoors on the lower sheltered deck.
